Our classes are tailored for all ability levels and children progress from parented classes all the way through our 12 levels to competitive swimming. Along the way, students gain certificates through Royal Life Saving’s ‘infant aquatics’ and ‘Swim and Survive’ programs. We will also be continuing our very popular ‘Safety and Rescue Week’ where the participant will learn lifesaving skills whilst fully clothed.
Sign Up NowSport for Life Swimming is also the first and only swim school on mainland China to be recognized and approved by AUSTSWIM, the industry standard for swimming teachers and programs, Royal Life Saving, a body responsible for the safety in and around the water and Swim Australia, the learn to swim branch of Australia’s peak competitive body.
At Sport For Life we firmly believe in breaking down each swimming skill and we strongly believe in bringing FUN to our lessons. This is aided by ensuring fully qualified swim teachers make up our team of staff. From this we have built our following philosophy:
Age: 6 to 24 Months
The Aim: This class is to develop water familiarization which will stay with children for later years. As children progress and grow, they will develop greater confidence in the water. The instructor will run fun games, songs and activities through each child’s parent or helper.
Age: 24 Months – 3 years+
The Aim: Water confidence and safety continue to be developed through structured activities with the aid of a parent or helper. The main outcomes include moving around freely, floating, submersion and using arms and legs to achieve a simple form of travel.
Age: 4 years +
The Aim: These levels progress children from initial confidence at being in a class on their own, to developing skills such as breathing, basic arm techniques, jumping/diving and different types of kicks.

The Aim: The emphasis in this level moves from teaching skills to making strokes efficient and effective. All four competitive strokes are covered as final techniques take shape, while some drills and basic training sets are introduced. These sessions may be carried out with the coach out of the pool.

The Aim: This is a new class we’re introducing this season as a way of bridging the gap between Swim efficiency and competition. The emphasis in this class is to refine stroke technique while also introducing children to basic training sets, clockwork and Competitive racing starts and turns.
Moving Criteria:
Age: 9 years+
The Aim: The benefits of joining the competition class are that we follow a seasonal development program that targets long term athlete development, and is a fantastic introduction into training. The competition classes are also a longer session and we encourage children to attend more than one competition class a week. In our classes we use goal setting cards for the children to take responsibility in their own development by them setting a goal of a time they want to achieve by the end of the season. In our competition class we also use video stroke analysis so that children can look at their stroke played back to them and what they need to do to improve it.
